Spotlight! Knit Your Own Lawn Gnome Kits

Lawn gnomes are indisputably awesome. They may be slightly creepy, but their appeal cannot be denied. gnome class portrait

I created my first knitted gnome on the fly, making up the pattern as I went along. Now you, too, can have the tremendous experience of knitting your own lawn gnome!

These kits come with stuffing, all the yarn you’ll require (in the color of your choosing), and my original pattern. The only other things you’ll need are a set of size 7 double-pointed needles and a little bit of free time.

The yarn included is 100% acrylic, so it’s washable, durable, and totally vegan.

Spotlight! Knit Your Own Finger Puppet Kits

Have you ever wanted an adorable finger puppet that you made yourself? Look no further!assorted finger puppets I have had so much fun making these myself that I thought others might want in on the action.

These DIY finger puppet kits come in several varieties: Brown Bear, Bee, Panda, and Kitty.

Each kit comes with all the yarn you’ll need and my original pattern for the critter you’ve selected. You’ll need to supply your own size 7 double-pointed needles, which are widely available in craft stores and online.

The yarn in each kit is 100% acrylic yarn, so each puppet will be completely washable and totally vegan.

These finger puppets are fun for all ages! I have verified opinions from folks ranging from age two: “more!” to old-enough-not-to-provide-an-age: “Fun to knit and to play with! Also makes a nice office accoutrement.”

Spotlight! Custom Stripey Sweaters

Welcome to the inaugural post in the Spotlight! series, where we will feature our goods in more detail. Today we have everything you ever wanted to know about our Custom Stripey Sweaters for Blythe:

custom for pariszhenpinkThese sweaters are made by me (Anne) and I handknit them using my own original pattern. The yarn is always new, and the yarns I use are 100% wool, 100% alpaca, wool/silk, or alpaca/silk (depending on the colors you select).

This sweater is designed to fit Blythe loosely, in an oversize style. A sweater should be comfortable, right? They fasten in the back with a metal snap, and can actually be worn back-to-front for a cardigan look, either fastened or not.

Did you know? If your sweater is looking not-so-fresh after lots of wear, you can refresh it with steam! Just put your iron on the steam setting, and hover over the sweater without touching it with the iron’s surface. You can smooth the sweater out with your hand if necessary (be sure to move the iron away first!), and it should be back to looking new in a matter of moments.

These sweaters also fit other dolls, such as Pullip, Momoko, and even Barbie. Check out our group pool on Flickr for more photos of Blythe and others modelling these sweaters! Is there anything else you’d like to know about these? Let us know in the comments!

Susan and AnneIf we haven’t met yet, we’re glad to make your acquaintance! We’re two sisters, Anne and Susan, who love to make stuff and share it with the world. We live in Michigan and Florida, respectively, and one of the ways we stay close is sharing the AnneArchy shop. (The name makes it clear that Anne is the bossy older sister.) We hope you’ll stick around to get to know us!
