A lot of the online nurseries are having big sales these days, and I managed to find some real steals for the front garden, as well as for several other garden beds by the driveway and in the back yard.

Mixed Crocus
Crocus
Since these bloom and fade early, I’m planning to plant them throughout the front garden. I won’t have much else of color interest that early.

Super Mixture Allium
Allium ostrowkianum
These Allium will go in the back yard, in a bed I’ve yet to expand (by the garage and fence). I need to get out there and rip out some more grass pretty soon so I’ll be ready to plant. Most of the other things I have in that bed already bloom in mid-summer, so this will provide some interest earlier in the year.

Blue Poppy Anemone
Anemone coronaria
These are almost purple, so they’re going in the front garden.

St Brigid Anemone
Anemone coronaria
More for the new garage/fence flower bed. In years to come, I’ll probably pick out the purple ones and transplant them in the front garden.

Grecian Windflower
Anemone blanda
These will go in the driveway-side bed. (Same here for pulling out the purple ones in future years.)

Hardy Gladiola
Gladiolus nanus
These will also go in the driveway-side bed. I already have some Glads there and I want more.

English Lavender
Lavandula augustifolia ‘Munstead’
This will add to the lavender I’ve already planted up front – I have a fairly large border area I’d like to fill with lavender so I can use some more.

Azure Allium
Allium caeruleum
I have one light purple Allium in the drive-way side bed, and I’d like to have a mixture. These will go in there, at least until I find I want them elsewhere.

Lord Lieutenant Anemone
Anemone coronaria ‘Lord Lieutenant’
These will go in the driveway-side bed and in the garage/fence bed (yet to be expanded).

Mixed Liatris
Liatris spicata
The white ones of these will go in the front garden eventually (my guess is that they’ll come mixed up and I won’t be able to tell which are which until next year). The pink will go in the new garage/fence bed.

Purple Sensation Iris
Iris hollandica ‘Purple Sensation’
More purple for the front garden.

Poppy Anemones
Anemone coronaria DeCaen
These will go in the driveway-side bed, and again, I’ll pull the purple ones in future years to add to the front.

Lavender Mountain Lilies
Ixiolirion tataricum
Front garden!

Drumstick Allium
Allium sphaerocephalon
More Allium for the driveway bed.

Blazing Star Liatris
Liatris spicata
These are close enough to purple for the front garden.

Alpine Rosy Bells
Allium oreophilum
Some early bloomers for the driveway bed, where I have mostly late blooming flowers at present.
Here’s to September, when these will all arrive!
