My new bird bath has officially attracted birds! And I have officially photographed one quite poorly!
I have seen a few other birds using it, but most of the time I haven’t had a camera on me. Usually when I go out back, I have at least one dog in tow, so the birds don’t necessarily stay that long, either. But I have seen bird doo on the rim almost daily! There is a family of whatever kind of bird this is living in the weed tree behind the former evil neighbors’ garage and I think they really like having water nearby. I’m slightly worried that the flippers will chop down the tree – I mean, I’d love for the tree itself to go, but I don’t want these birds to lose their home. Can any birders identify this little guy? Some kind of sparrow, maybe?

Anne, that is a beautiful bird bath! Congratulations on your bird sighting!
Thanks, Sam! I’m so excited about it!
Anne – I think I told you this was a chickadee…but it’s a sparrow. I was looking at the pic on my phone and the picture was small! Hopefully you’ve had other bird sightings, perhaps a chickadee, which is so cute – black and white.
Thanks, Susan! I totally understand. And thanks! I have seen a few chickadees near the library this year, but not at home – yet!
