Remember when I noticed that the neighbor’s maples had something wrong with them? Well, it has continued to get worse throughout the season, and our silver maple grew enough that it touched them and now it has the Dread Spots, too.
The silver maple isn’t anywhere near as bad as the neighbor’s trees, but I am still sad that it got the Spots.
The leaves from the neighbor trees are looking really terrible as they fall, and I’m going to be in for a major task to keep the front garden free of them until it snows. This first photo shows some of the fallen leaves that look GOOD:

Ugh! So not good.
Any tree experts care to make a diagnosis? (Hint: it’s not Lupus.) I’m thinking probably Maple Leaf Tar Spot Disease.
