Royal Oak Music Theater: Kids in the Hall

It looks like the Kids in the Hall might have a new TV show! It’ll theoretically be called Death Comes to Town and is currently still being written (not in production yet). It’ll also be a narrative story, rather than sketch comedy, so it’ll be fairly different from the old stuff. That’s a good thing, I think, as trying to recreate past glory is almost always a losing proposition (though they were awesome when we saw them live last May – but live is vastly different from TV). I don’t say that because of Brain Candy. Many people weren’t fans, but I think that movie is brilliant. Fuck happy!

sage advice, indeed.

An old pal of mine from the days of yore at The Bird has come up with some sound financial advice in this uncertain time, which I would like to share, because it is awesome:

“If you had purchased $1,000 of AIG stock one year ago, you would have $42 left.

With Lehman, you would have $6.60 left. With Fannie or Freddie, you would have less than $5 left.

But if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all of the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND,you would have had $214.

Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.”
