Royal Oak Music Theater: Kids in the Hall

It looks like the Kids in the Hall might have a new TV show! It’ll theoretically be called Death Comes to Town and is currently still being written (not in production yet). It’ll also be a narrative story, rather than sketch comedy, so it’ll be fairly different from the old stuff. That’s a good thing, I think, as trying to recreate past glory is almost always a losing proposition (though they were awesome when we saw them live last May – but live is vastly different from TV). I don’t say that because of Brain Candy. Many people weren’t fans, but I think that movie is brilliant. Fuck happy!

water bottles

So you’ve ditched your plastic water bottles, right? And you’re wondering which metal replacements to go with, and debating whether it’s worth it to shell out almost $20 for a Kleen Kanteen, yes? Well, Wired’s Gadget Lab has done the work for you, and beat the crap out of four major brands of metal water bottles. I have to admit I’m reassured to hear that the Kleen Kanteens rated the best, as we bought a few of them and I felt sort of ridiculous spending that much. Over time, though, they’ll pay for themselves.

Grimly Pinocchio

Grimly Pinocchio

Guillermo del Toro is going to make a stop-motion Pinocchio with illustrator and LibrariAnne fave Gris Grimly! There aren’t too many details available yet, but I am extremely excited. If you can get your hands on Grimly’s 2002 Pinocchio book, do it.
