new free pattern: Leeport Baby Blanket

A colleague will be having a baby soon and I was really inspired by her photos of the nursery as they have been putting it together. They have a great color palette (not pastels, but not primary colors either), and I realized that I could make a blanket that would go perfectly AND do a thing I’ve been wanting to do, which is design a garter stitch blanket that uses 100% cotton yarn. It has so many things that make it ideal for a baby blanket: it’s so durable, it’s washable, it is unlikely to set off any allergies or irritate sensitive skin, and it’s light/not wooly.

So, here’s the Leeport Blanket! You could make it with as many or as few stripes as you’d like, as many or as few colors as you’d like. It has a decorative edge but isn’t too fussy. Enjoy!
